Magazine Comparison

This is my school magazine comparison. there is not much detail because it was hard to compare the magazines as they were not the best magazine covers i have seen. Both magazine covers stick to the rules of magazine covers by having mastheads, cover lines and a main image. Also, both magazine covers stick to their target audience. After reviewing both front covers, i not have a rough idea of how i want my magazine cover to look.

Monday 5 October 2009

As you can see by these two pictures i have been learning the basics about photoshop and tried to take an original picture that i took myself and transformed it into an advert for topman. By doing so, i erased the background so all the attention is on the model. Following this, i added some of my own brushes to make the green effects emerging from the top corners. this gives the advert some colour and interests the audience. I have made sure the glows point towards thje model so he stays center of attention at all times. Finally, i added the brand name 'TOPMAN' so everyone that looks at this advert will know where the clothes the model is wearing are from. I believe that this advert sticks to the simple codes and conventions of every advertisement as it has the main image and the brand name, simple.

Model Make-Up

With these two images, i was retouching the models face so she has clear skin and the colour of her eyes and hair are different. The tools i used are gaussien blur to smooth the skin; a spot healing tool to remove any minor blemishes and the light filter and soft light tools to change any hair and eye colours.

Cloning Practise

As you can see, i have been learning how to use the cloning tool in Adobe Photoshop and have sucessfully cloned out the writing 'The St.Maryl' and the CCTV camera on the brick wall.
